For exclusive release on 1XRUN, I created a new series of original artworks using only black India ink, drawing from poetry and mathematics to distill time and space. My Writes is a meditation on practice, movement and precision.

My gestural markmaking practice deals solely in singular ticks of the clock, out to the greatest possible decimal. In continuing art’s explorations to preserve time through abstraction, I’m thrilled to release this run of original works on paper, taking moments down to the millisecond. I’ve caught a few here in black ink.
